An Italian overpass bridge has collapsed along Italy's main Adriatic coast highway. Local media said two motorists died and two construction workers were injured. The overpass itself had been closed for roadworks.
A motorway bridge south of the central Italian city of Ancona collapsed on Thursday, reportedly killing two motorists.
The website of the newspaper La Repubblica said they were a 60-year-old man and his 54-year-old wife who lived in the adjacent Marche region.
A photo issued by police showed a Nissan SUV crushed under the autostrada span.
The bridge is part of the A14 highway, between Ancona South and Loreto.
The local fire brigade posted a video of the scene on Twitter.
The operator of the autostrada told Italian news agency Ansa that a temporary structure supporting the bridge had collapsed.
La Repubblica said the injured construction workers were Romanians.
