Dortmund face Salzburg, Leipzig draw Zenit in last-16

Borussia Dortmund will play RB Salzburg in the round of 16 of the Europa League. The other German team still alive in the competition, RB Leipzig, have drawn Russian side Zenit St. Petersburg.

Bundesliga sides Borussia Dortmund and RB Leipzig both received a favorable draw in the round of 16 in Europe's second-tier club competition, the Europa League.

Dortmund are up against Austrian side Red Bull Salzburg, while Leipzig, who are also sponsored by Red Bull, face Russian side Zenit St. Petersburg.

"I am looking forward to it. It's an opportunity as an Austrian coach to play against an Austrian team," Dortmund coach Peter Stöger said upon hearning the news. He also described the fixture as attractive but "manageable."

RB Leipzig fans in Mozambique

Dortmund advanced to the round of 16 by earning a 1-1 draw away to Atalanta last night, following their 3-2 win at home in the first leg.

Leipzig suffered a 2-0 defeat at home to Napoli on Thursday but still advanced due to their 3-1 win in Naples in the first leg.
