The Turner Contemporary Gallery in Margate in southeast England was designed by acclaimed British architect David Chipperfield. It's hoped the exhibition hall will help revive the fortunes of the seaside resort where 19th century artist Joseph Mallord William Turner painted some of his famous landscape scenes. euromaxx visited the gallery ahead of its opening in April 2011.
Berlin fashion designer Christine Mayer makes new clothing - mostly coats and jackets - from recycled fabrics. Old uniforms are among her favorite materials to work with because like other handmade garments from yesteryear the fabrics are especially durable.
