EU Calls for Cancellation of Open Skies Agreements

European Union Transport Commissioner Loyola de Palacio has called on all 15 member countries to cancel their open skies agreements with the United States and allow Brussels to negotiate its own deal. Wednesday’s statement came two weeks after the European Court ruled arrangements between individual states contravened EU law. Palacio said the change would benefit European carriers.
