June 4 is Germany's World Heritage Day. Here are some of the country's sites listed by UNESCO, and more on the process that led them to be selected among the prestigious World Heritage Sites.
No less than 41 sites - architectural and natural marvels - in Germany have been placed on UNESCO’s World Heritage list. Each is unique and authentic as well as popular with tourists.
Check-in viewer Denys Kushnarov from Ukraine filmed the Monastery of Caves in Kyiv. In 1990 it was made a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
The pilgrimage church near Steingaden is a magnificent example of Bavarian ecclesiastical architecture. This rococo masterpiece has been a UNESCO World Heritage site since 1983.
