Clashes between Georgian and South Ossetian forces erupted over night. Officials say at least 15 people have been killed in the fighting. Georgia's president Mikheil Saakashvili has called for a "total mobilization". NATO head Japp de Hoop Scheffer called on both sides to return to the negotiating table.
