The car-centric state of California has long battled with air pollution and smog. But now the state is taking big strides towards cleaner air. It plans to cut 80 percent of its emissions by 2050 below 1990 levels. And in order to meet its targets, the government is encouraging Californians to switch to electric vehicles.
