A copy of an essay written by the physicist Albert Einstein and bearing notes he scribbled in its margins has been sold at auction for €100,000 ($130,000) in Berlin on Thursday, the J.A. Stargardt company said. The 20-page text was written by the founder of the theory of relativity in 1905 and entitled "The electrodynamics of moving bodies," said auctioneer Wolfgang Mecklenburg. It had been offered at a starting price of €1,600. At the same auction, a 1919 letter written in red ink by Vladimir Ilyich Lenin, founder of the Soviet Union, went for a mere €9,000. (AFP)
