French prosecutors have launched a judicial inquiry into allegations that carmaking giant PSA has cheated on diesel pollution test. It's the latest twist in a huge results rigging scandal which VW started in 2015.
Employees are worried about the possible sale of carmaker Opel to French group PSA. DW reporter Christian Pricelius went to Opel's main factory in Rüsselsheim, Germany, to listen to them.
The emissions cheating scandal may be bad news for Volkswagen, but the German automaker's rivals should probably consider sending a "Thank you" note to Wolfsburg. While many posted double-digit gains, VW sales suffered.
The proposed ban comes as part French environment minister Nicolas Hulot's ambitious environmental roadmap. The new government is also seeking to make France carbon-neutral by 2050.
