Dmitri Medvedev wins presidental elections in Russia - je 03.03.2008 08

Preliminary results in Russia show that Dmitri Medvedev has won a landslide victory in the country's presidential elections. With most of the ballots counted, results from the Central Election Commission showed Medvedev with just over 70 percent of the vote. As president, he has vowed a direct continuation of the political path created by his predecessor Vladimir Putin.
