The university portal www.campus-germany.de, the service for students developed by Deutsche Welle and the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD), is now also online in Arabic. "We have had lots of requests from the Middle East that we offer information about studies and research in Germany in Arabic," explains Guido Baumhauer, editor-in-chief of Deutsche Welle’s website DW-WORLD.DE. "The Arabic version of campus-germany.de now increases our presence in a region where young people in particular have a growing interest in Germany."

The new website addresses students and young scientists who are interested in studying or researching in Germany. In addition to Arabic, the information is accessible in German, English, Chinese, French, Russian and Spanish. A Japanese version is under preparation.

All of the information on studying, research, vocational training and living in Germany are continuously updated, expanded and supplemented by news from the universities. Additionally, campus-germany.de presents 150 cities and a search engine makes it easy to find the right university. The more than 800 articles are supplemented by over 2000 links as well as audio and video clips. Interviews with students from all over the world and their very personal impressions of life in Germany and of the Germans reveal interesting – and often surprising – perspectives.

The Internet portal campus-germany.de was created as part of the concerted action "International Marketing for Education and Research in Germany". The German Ministry for Education and Research, which initiated the concerted action in 2001, provides funds for the portal.
