Germany's second largest trade fair organizer, Deutsche Messe, has canceled the US version of its German computer fair, CeBIT, the company announced on Tuesday. Officials cited the troubled American information and telecommunications technology sectors as a reason for the decision not to stage the fair in New York in 2005. CeBIT America 2003 and 2004 had already lacked the visitor numbers required to make the event profitable, according to news reports. CeBIT America 2004 took place in May in New York. In Germany, the company is also expecting millions of euros in losses this year.
