So despite Moscow joining an official ceasfire Russian troops remain active in central Georgia. Reuters News agency has confirmed that Russian forces have blown up a railway bridge near the town of Kaspi west of the capital Tbilisi, paralysing the national railway network. A Russian general had earlier denied this. So while the situation on the ground remains unclear there is no sign yet of Russian forces retreating.
