Despite Chaos: Constitutional referendum in Burma - je 10.05.2008 16

International leaders are still trying to convince the Burmese government to allow a large-scale aid operation into the country. More than a million survivors are belived to be in desperate need of help and time is running out to get to them, with the risk of disease looming. Despite the widespread devastation to their country, the military rulers in Burma have called on people to go and vote in a constitutional referendum. Meanwhile the image of the country spread by official media is in stark contrast to reports of the destruction on the ground. +++SYN-MAZ+++
