Demand for German Products Remains Constant

Signs that the German economy is turning up are few and far-between. The demand for German products remained at the same level in July as it had been the previous month, the Finance Ministry Germany reported on Thursday. In June German firms had received 2.3 percent more new contracts than in May. Total orders in June and July in 2003 fell 2 percent short of the 2002 level.
