Cyberbullying among Teens

More and more teenage suicides are being traced back to cyberbullying - attacks and smear campaigns on social networks, often by anonymous perpetrators. In Britain August 2013, cyberbullying claimed yet another victim: 14-year-old Hannah Smith hanged herself after her tormenters reviled her online and urged her to kill herself.

At least nine other teen suicidesin Britain, Ireland and the United States have been linked to cyberbullying over the relatively uncontrolled Ask.fm network, which now claims around 65 million members worldwide. We offer tips for dealing with online bullying. An information campaign in Britain aims to equip young people with resources to help keep them from becoming victims of cyberbullying.
