Crowing Contest

August 17, 2012

The town of Venne in Lower Saxony recently played host to a rather unusual event: a rooster-crowing contest. The feathered contestants are crowing for their life, since roosters who don’t make the mark are liable to end up in the pot. In a standout performance, the best rooster crowed 44 times to be declared the winner.
