An administrative court in Karlsruhe on Friday affirmed the right of Germany's federal aviation authority (LBA) to impose restrictions on flights to Zurich, Switzerland's, Kloten International Airport that make landing approaches over southern Germany. For years, residents in the state of Baden-Württemberg have complained about noisy nighttime landings at the busy international airport. Currently, Germany's LBA bans Swiss flights from making their landing approach over Germany between 10 p.m. and 6 a.m. Switzerland's national airline, Swiss, and Kloten Airport filed the lawsuit in October, claiming it would force to struggling company to eliminate 25 to 30 percent of its overall capacity.
