Gunmen opened fire in a busy mall in the German city of Munich. At least nine people were killed in the violence. Police asked the public to stay off the streets as they pursued the assailants. Munich, Germany's third largest city, was placed on lockdown, with authorities closing off highways and halting public transport.
The Promenade des Anglais, the scene of Thursday’s horrific attack in Nice which saw 84 people die at the hands of a lone assailant, re-opened on Saturday.
