Champions League as it happened

November 21, 2017

A Timo Werner brace a Naby Keita solo effort and a Monaco own goal have put RB Leipzig in the driving seat in Monaco. In Dortmund, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang is back in business but there's yet more misery.

FULL TIME -- Monaco 1 - 4 RB Leipzig

And it's done in Monaco too. RB Leipzig will need a favor from Monaco next matchday but they are in with a chance.

FULL TIME -- Borussia Dortmund 1 - 2 Tottenham Hotspur

This game, and Dortmund's Champions League campaign, is over.

90 + 2 -- Borussia Dortmund 1 - 2 Tottenham Hotspur

Bürki is off after that clash, with Weidenfeller on. Hopefully he's ok, he seems to be concious on the stretcher.

89' -- Borussia Dortmund 1 - 2 Tottenham Hotspur

The new man should wrap it up but Llorente takes a heavy touch when clean through and Bürki claims. The Dortmund keeper was caught on the head by the striekr's boot on the follow through.

85' -- Borussia Dortmund 1 - 2 Tottenham Hotspur

Dortmund with a little spell of pressure now but Spurs looking resolute. Kane off, Llorente on for the visitors.

81' -- Borussia Dortmund 1 - 2 Tottenham Hotspur

Eriksen almost seals it for Spurs but flashes his header wide.

79 -- Monaco 1 - 4 RB Leipzig

Forsberg off, Laimer on for Leipzig.

76' -- Borussia Dortmund 1 - 2 Tottenham Hotspur

GOAL! Son has been threatening all night and finally gets a goal. Alli wriggles free of Götze and Bartra on the right far too easily and finds the Korean, afforded too much space in the box, who curls home from 12 yards. The misery continues.

74 -- Monaco 1 - 4 RB Leipzig

The Stade Louis II was pretty empty before Leipzig sealed the game in the first half. It looks even emptier now. Those that have left aren't missing much.

69' -- Borussia Dortmund 1 - 1 Tottenham Hotspur

Son almost gets on the end of a cross from Rose but Bürki is out quickly again. Castro has replaced Kagawa for Dortmund.

62 -- Borussia Dortmund 1 - 1 Tottenham Hotspur

The two sides of Marc Bartra on display there. First the Spaniard does well to sweep up when Kane looks through on goal but he then gives the ball straight to Son. He delays a little too long in playing Alli in and Bürki smothers. Big let off.

59' -- Monaco 1 - 4 RB Leipzig

Brief moment of concern for Leipzig as Raggi almost makes the most of Gulasci's spill from a flick on. But the Italian defender was offside.

57' -- Borussia Dortmund 1 - 1 Tottenham Hotspur

Alli fires wide after some lovely approach play between him, Kane and Eriksen. Meanwhile, in Nicosia, where Dortmund need Real Madrid to slip up...

54 -- Monaco 1 - 4 RB Leipzig

We'd had two goals by this point in the first half, not so much going on so far in the second.

52' -- Borussia Dortmund 1 - 1 Tottenham Hotspur

Schmelzer sees yellow for a feisty tackle on Aurier.

49' -- Borussia Dortmund 1 - 1 Tottenham Hotspur

GOAL! Tottenham are level and, of course it's Harry Kane. Toljan gave the ball away on Dortmund's right and Alli shifted it to Kane. He bundled his way through a challenge and struck low in the near post from the edge of the box.

46' -- The ball is rolling again in Monaco and Dortmund.

HALF TIME

It's not happened often this season but both German sides lead at the break. For Leipzig, this game is all but done and they will battle it out with Porto for second spot.

Dortmund have been much improved from most of their recent displays and have their reward thanks to Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang but, with Real Madrid 3-0 up against APOEL, they'll almost certainly have to settle for the Europa League no matter what.

45' -- Monaco 1 - 4 RB Leipzig

GOAL! Glimmer extinguished as Naby Keita takes a ball on the edge of the box, glides through a pair of soft tackles and restores the three goal cushion.

43' -- Monaco 1 - 3 RB Leipzig

GOAL! A glimmer of hope for Monaco as Falcao beats Gulasci to a free kick and nods in. The Leipzig keeper got nowhere near that.

Borussia Dortmund 1 - 0 Tottenham Hotspur

41' -- Bürki keeps Dortmund level. The Swiss keeper has taken a lot of flak lately but he does brilliantly to palm Eric Dier's header away at full stretch.

39' -- Monaco 0 - 3 RB Leipzig

A spell of pressure for the hosts ends when Leipzig scramble clear a corner.

Borussia Dortmund 1 - 0 Tottenham Hotspur

34 -- Aubameyang almost through again but Vertonghen just recovers.

Borussia Dortmund 1 - 0 Tottenham Hotspur

31' -- GOAL! Now Dortmund are getting in on the action. The hosts work the ball well through midfield before finding Yarmolenko, who produces a brilliant flick that sets Aubameyang free. He fires low across Lloris before a somewhat muted celebration.

Monaco 0 - 3 RB Leipzig

31' -- GOAL! Werner smashes it down the middle and the game is as good as done. The penatly was awarded after Falcao was adjudged to have brought down Orban following a corner. There was contact but it looked a soft one.

Monaco 0 - 2 RB Leipzig

29' -- Penalty to Leipzig.

Borussia Dortmund 0 - 0 Tottenham Hotspur

24' -- Son goes close for Spurs. The English side work the ball from the left to right wing back Aurier who has acres of room. He finds Son at the front post but the ball was slow in reaching him and he's crowded out by a defender. Just before that, Aubameyang had a decent chance for BVB but put it wide.

Monaco 0 - 2 RB Leipzig

22' -- Things have quietened down after that frantic opening. Leipzig are such a good counter-attacking side that it's a huge ask for Monaco now. They are out of the competition if they don't win.

Borussia Dortmund 0 - 0 Tottenham Hotspur

16' -- Things are a little quieter in Germany, where Spurs are on top but Dortmund have had thier moments, Yarmolenko striking tamely from a decent position in the latest of them.

Monaco 0 - 2 RB Leipzig

13' -- Monaco try to get back in the game but Gulasci repels a pair of decent efforts from Keita Balde.

Monaco 0 - 2 RB Leipzig

9' -- GOAL! Another horrible mistake by Jemerson. He gives the ball to Kampl, who feeds Werner and the Germany international does the rest, lifting it over the keeper. What a start from Leipzig.

Monaco 0 - 1 RB Leipzig

6' -- GOAL! Well an own goal actually and Leipzig are ahead. Kampl set Sabitzer free down the left. He crossed low but not particularly dangerously but Jemerson seemed to panic and shinned the ball in to his own net.

Borussia Dortmund 0 - 0 Tottenham Hotspur

3' -- Dortmund pressing hard and high early on before Weigl gets a little over-enthusiastic and fouls Son. The Korean then gets free at the other end but his shot is deflected behind.

1' -- We're underway in both games. The Stade Louis II stadium in Monaco, a ground not renowned for its atmosphere looks more than half empty while Signal Iduna Park is as enormous, and as packed, as ever.

After Besiktas drew with Porto earlier this evening, their qualification from Group G is assured. RB Leipzig can move level on points with second placed Porto with a win against last season's semifinalists Monaco tonight. The French side have disappointed this time round and have only two points so far.

Timo Werner leads the line for the Red Bulls, along with Yusuf Poulsen, with Kevin Kampl joining Naby Keita at the base of midfield. Monaco spearhead Radamel Falcao will be a concern to the German side - he has 14 goals in 14 games this season.

For Dortmund, the situation is much stickier. A pair of draws against APOEL Nicosia, which came amidst a miserable run of one win in eight for Peter Bosz' men means they need European champions Real Madrid to slip up against APOEL in Cyprus to stand a chance.

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang is back for Dortmund, who look short in the center back department, with the inexperienced Dan-Axel Zagadou partnering Marc Bartra. Some hope comes in their record at home against English clubs - they've lost just 1 of 11 home games against sides from England.
