Cattle slaughter ban hits Indian famers

Despite the Hindu religious taboo against the slaughter of cows, India is one of the world's largest beef exporters. Now its meat exports have tumbled by 13 percent after Hindu-dominated states have banned slaughter of all kinds of cattle including bulls and bullocks. This comes as India is being rocked by crippling drought, reducing millions of farmers to poverty.
