Bayern held at Frankfurt, Cologne up to second

Frankfurt 2-2 Bayern Munich

Arjen Robben put the champions ahead against seventh-placed Frankfurt after 11 minutes when he found space on the left of the penalty area and fired in from a tight angle.
Frankfurt's Timothy Chandler struck a shot against the post five minutes later before the home side were level thanks to Szabolcs Huszti.
The Hungarian midfielder made the most of a fortunate bounce and cracked a low shot across Manuel Neuer into the far corner.
Bayern were back in front through the in-form Joshua Kimmich in the 65th minute before Huszti earned a second yellow card in a clash with Renato Sanches.
Bayern failed to make their extra man count and conceded again 12 minutes from time when Chandler drove the ball across goal and Marco Fabian used his chest to divert the ball past Neuer.
Bayern, who won their opening five matches under new coach Carlo Ancelotti, maintained a two-point lead at the top despite their latest setback.
Werder Bremen 2-1 Bayer Leverkusen

Bremen climbed out of the relegation places thanks to their teenage Gambian forward Ousman Manneh, who became the first man from the African nation to score in the Bundesliga.
Manneh, who fled the violence and corruption of his homeland two years ago and is now 19, pounced on a loose ball on the hour and fired past Bernd Leno to secure only a second win of the campaign for the home side.
Zlatko Junuzovic had put Bremen ahead in the 13th minute after Leno blocked Manneh’s initial effort before Hakan Calhanoglu nodded a 27th-minute leveler past Bremen goalkeeper Felix Wiedwald.
Bremen have seven points in 13th, while Leverkusen are ninth on 10 points.
Borussia Mönchengladbach 0-0 Hamburg
Mid-table Gladbach had one of those days when the ball simply refused to go in despite a host of chances. They missed two penalties and also hit the post late in the second half.
Hamburg goalkeeper Rene Adler brilliantly saved Andre Hahn’s spot kick midway through the first half and Gladbach were awarded another penalty just after the hour.
Lars Stindl smashed his effort against the crossbar, only the second time Gladbach have fluffed two penalties in the Bundesliga. Hamburg, yet to win a game this term, moved off the bottom on two points.
Augsburg 1-1 Schalke
(Baier 78’ – Bentaleb 65’)
Struggling Schalke appeared to be heading for a valuable away win when Nabil Bentaleb’s superb strike ricocheted off the crossbar and down behind the goal line in the 65th minute.
It was the Algerian's debut Bundesliga goal and the first time in German top flight history Hawk Eye technology was used to confirm the ball had crossed the line.
However, Daniel Baier hammered a shot into the top corner with 12 minutes left to rescue a point for the home side and leave Schalke down in 16th.
There was more bad news for Markus Weinzierl's side when it was confirmed after the game that record signing Breel Embolo, a Swiss international striker, had fractured an ankle.
Cologne 2-1 Ingolstadt

Unbeaten Cologne continued their impressive start to move up to second on 15 points, one short of their best-ever return at this stage of a campaign achieved more than half a century ago.
Anthony Modeste jumped above Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang to the top of the scoring chart on seven goals thanks to a first-half double.
The French forward’s first came in the 29th minute when he took the ball down and drove it past Ingolstadt goalkeeper Orjan Nyland.
He doubled Cologne’s lead from the spot six minutes before halftime before Ingolstadt, who dropped below Hamburg to the bottom of the standings, converted a penalty of their own late on.
Hoffenheim 2-1 Freiburg
(Wagner 34’, Kramaric 81’ pen – Niederlechner 78’)
Hoffenheim, who are also unbeaten, climbed to fifth after a match in which Freiburg defender Caglar Soyuncu was involved in all three goals.
After 34 minutes, he played a poor back pass that allowed Sandro Wagner to round Freiburg goalkeeper Alexander Schwolow and score from a tight angle.
He made amends 12 minutes from time with a fine ball over the top to Florian Niederlechner, who clipped a shot high into the net.
However, Soyuncu was again at fault for Hoffenheim’s winner three minutes later, conceding a penalty converted by Andrej Kramaric.
RB Leipzig play at Wolfsburg and Mainz entertain Darmstadt on Sunday.
