RB Leipzig 2-2 Borussia Mönchengladbach
(Werner 17', Augustin 31' - Hazard 25' pen, Stindl '61)

An entertaining clash to round out Saturday's action, one fitting the overused tale of two halves cliche. Leipzig looked strong for much of the first period, and only let Gladbach stay in contention by conceding a rather soft penalty. But the Foals found their gallop in the second half, spurred on by Lars Stindl's splendid equalizer. By the close, Leipzig's fans might have been happy to secure the point, not least after Naby Keita's late sending off.

89' -- Raffael lays on a shot for Wendt, as the Foals try to capitalize on their extra man in the closing seconds. Gulasci gathers it up.

85' -- Sub Leipzig: Poulsen on for Forsberg. Ballsy stuff now Leipzig are a man down. Attacking midfielder replaced by a forward.

83' -- RED CARD Naby Keita. Once Kramer's back on his feet, referee Marco Fritz shows Keita red for the collision that bloodied Kramer's nose. Keita's foot was very high, while Kramer went for the same ball with his head. The rest, as they say, was painful.

82' -- Bloody nose for Christoph Kramer, who's signalling to the bench saying he doesn't want to come off. 

75' -- Sub Leipzig: Naby Keita makes way for Bruma.

71' -- Raffael fires wide as the Foals scent three away points. They've improved in the second half.

70' -- It was Hazard, who elected to cross rather than shoot. Too much weight on it, ball sails past everyone.

69' -- Dangerous free kick for the Foals. Shooting range, perhaps for Hazard.

61' -- GOAL! RB Leipzig 2-2 Gladbach (Lars Stindl). That's a proper peach from Stindl. He looks up approaching the penalty area and curls it out of Gulasci's reach into the far corner with his right foot.

55' -- Thorgan Hazard fancies his chances, even though he was standing somewhere near Düsseldorf when he pulled the trigger. Off target from range.

46' -- Real danger for Gladbach as Leipzig have a three-on-two. Werner fed Forsberg out left, and the German striker wanted it back again. Forsberg tried to make space to shoot instead, but was blocked by an excellent last-gasp intervention.

Second half begins.

HT analysis: 
Leipzig have had the better of the half, but perhaps not the better of the chances. Gladbach looked very dangerous on the break even while appearing a little outgunned in Leipzig. Bernardo will regret his push on Jonas Hofmann, giving the Foals an immediate equalizer from the penalty spot. In midfield, both Kampl and Keita have impressed. Keita made Augustin's goal, while Kampl set Timo Werner's opener in motion with a clever "hockey assist." 

HALF TIME.

44' -- Raffael pulls out his party piece, narrowly missing a goal without a goalkeeper. In his defense, two defenders stood in his way and made the target markedly smaller.

41' -- Naby Keita sidelined after a bad bump to the head. Although he's looking better than he did at first.

36' -- Real danger on the counter from Gladbach, but Hofmann's back-post cross is just a touch too high for Hazard.

31' -- GOAL! RB Leipzig 2-1 Gladbach (Jean-Kevin Augustin). Naby Keita puts the "measured" before "pass," with a very neat feed through the center. Augustin turns and takes it in his stride, calmly tucking it home. 

25' -- GOAL! RB Leipzig 1-1 Gladbach (Thorgan Hazard, pen). The belgian doesn't find the corner, but he sends Gulasci the wrong way. The Foals tie it up out of nowhere. Bernardo will regret that shove, Hofmann was not posing too much of a threat on the very corner of the box.

24' -- Penalty Gladbach! Bernardo pushed Jonas Hofmann in the back.

22' -- Yann Sommer remains a busy bee in the Gladbach goal. He just intervened to stop a ball trying to play Augustin through. Very stong spell for the hosts.

17' -- GOAL! RB Leipzig 1-0 Borussia Mönchengladbach (Timo Werner). Leipzig open up space down the left, thanks to a smart pass from Kevin Kampl. Low cross from the flank, and Werner does very well to redirect it to the far post with his right foot. Werner's fourth in the league this season.

8' -- Konrad Laimer's the next to try his luck for Leipzig, about 18 yards out, too high.

4' -- Emil Forsberg curls one towards the far post and doesn't miss by much. Seems he's got a taste for goal from the Champions League midweek.

KICK OFF!

-- To the late game! RB Leipzig host Gladbach. Both Naby Keita and Kevin Kampl start together in midfield. Gladbach's team looks familiar.

Bayern get their mojo back and overpower under-powered Mainz at the Allianz. Schalke rescue three points with rather a lot of help from Bremen's defenders after falling behind on their road trip north. Augsburg pick up three more excellent points even though Frankfurt dominated possession at the Commerzbank Arena. And Stuttgart nab three points at home to Wolfsburg.

89' -- Bitter blow for Stutgart. Christian Gentner stretchered off after nasty aerial collision with Wolfsburg keeper Koen Casteels. Stuttgart wanted a penalty for the incident.

90+1' -- Late corner for Frankfurt. After several half-clearances, Marwin Hitz forced into a late save.

89' -- Another late Bayern chance for Kingsley Coman. Didn't connect quite right, saved.

83' -- GOAL! Werder Bremen 1-2 Schalke (Leon Goretzka). Schalke capitalize on some poor Bremen defending from a corner. Nastasic is all alone looking for a free header at the near post. He can't reach it, but the ball carries on to Goretzka in front of goal, and he volleys home with his left. He's been facing some criticism, even today, but that's a first goal of the season for the 22-year-old.

82' -- Sub Schalke, and look who's back. It's Belgian Breel Embolo.

80' -- GOAL! Frankfurt 1-2 Augsburg (Luka Jovic). The Eagles pull one right back from a corner. Maybe it ain't over yet at the Commerzbank Arena. Back to your dressing room, corpulent female vocalist, it's not time to sing.

78' -- GOAL! Bayern Munich 4-0 Mainz (Robert Lewandowski). Joshua Kimmich is an assist machine. He picks out Robert Lewandowski at the far post with a first-time cross, the Pole does the rest. No wonder Kimmich would like a spot in the middle of the park.

76' -- GOAL! Frankfurt 0-2 Augsburg (Caiuby). Pick THAT out. Caiuby pulls the trigger from long range, curls a dipping shot in off the underside of the bar. Scorcher from the Brazilian, who's been doing a solid job for the Pine Cones.

75' -- VAR alert! No penalty awarded in the end for Frankfurt.

70' -- Werder's Flörian Kainz has a go from distance but it keeps on rising. Still 1-1.

64' -- Frankfurt are taking control of possession now, battling to recover their 1-0 home deficit against Augsburg.

62' -- Jerome Boateng gets an early bath, subbed out for Niklas Süle. Boateng's on his way back from injury.

52' -- Koman and Lewandowski very nearly combine to make it four for Bayern.

50' -- GOAL! Bayern Munich 3-0 Mainz (Robert Lewandowski). Thomas Müller's low cross from the left bisects the keeper and the last man, Lewandowski slides in to provide the finishing touch. Crisis, which crisis?

49' -- Bayern free kick early in the second period, Kimmich floats in an in-swinger and Arturo Vidal heads over the bar.

HT wrap-up:
Bayern are back in cruise control at the Allianz Arena, or at least they made the most of their chances and their good fortune. Bremen enjoy practically the shortest-lived lead possible, even scoring the equalizer on Schalke's behalf. Stuttgart battle Wolfsburg in the pouring rain and reap their reward seconds before the break. And Augsburg's Philipp Max scores a YouTube special in Frankfurt, even if his real aim was to pick out a teammate at the far post.

45+2 -- A late chance for Bremen deflected wide for a corner. Schalke deal with the set piece and that's the first half done. One apiece.

45'+1 -- Schalke's Benjamin Stambouli picks up a yellow.

42' -- GOAL! Stuttgart 1-0 Wolfsburg (Chadrac Akolo). Mercedes 1, Volkswagen 0. Akolo did very well to control a bouncing ball and shoot. His first effort was saved but the rebound bounced right back to him and the man from the Democratic Republic of Congo made no mistake second time around.

42' -- Yellow card no-brainer there for Bayern's Rafinha. A chop on Massimo Donati.

41' -- Frankfurt pressuring their visitors now. Long-range free kick dealt with by Marwin Hitz, and then the Eagles fail to capitalize as Augsburg sloppily concede possession in their own third.

31' -- Daniel Caligiuri with a stinging shot for Schalke. Bremen's Jiri Pavlenka couldn't hold it, but was able to grab it at the second attempt.

24' -- GOAL! Bayern Munich 2-0 Mainz (Arjen Robben). I think we can class this as a flurry. Arjen Robben doubles Bayern's lead and runs over to the bench to give Franck Ribery a hug. 

22' -- GOAL! Werder Bremen 1-1 Schalke (Milos Velijkovic, OG). Bremen win the award for shortest-lived lead of the weekend.

21' -- GOAL! Werder Bremen 1-0 Schalke (Lamine Sane). A scrappy one from a corner this: Schalke only half cleared the loose ball fell to Sane, who threaded the needle in the box very well.

18' -- GOAL! Frankfurt 0-1 Augsburg (Philipp Max). Remarkbale free kick from right by the corner flag. Max plays a gorgeous inswinging cross, and ends up finding the top corner! 

16' -- A very wayward shot in Stuttgart from Anastasios Donis, just moments after he had hit the post with a much more controlled attempt. Wolfsburg on the back foot in one of Germany's other automotive hubs.

11' -- GOAL! Bayern Munich 1-0 Mainz (Arjen Robben). Es Müllert wieder! Or was that one half of a Robbery? Müller back in the starting line-up and his shot's deflected in off Arjen Robben. Unfortunate for Mainz and especially Rene Adler. The goal was ultimately credited to Robben.

5' -- Measured starts to all the games thus far, Bayern knocking the ball about high in Mainz's half, Stuttgart and Wolfsburg trying to play the beautiful game despite the driving rain, Bremen and Schalke's respective back three's settling in for the shift.

KICK OFF!

-- Just five minutes until the off around the grounds. Believe it or not, surprise leaders Hannover are safe at the top of the table, at least during the course of these games. Only Dortmund and Hoffenheim (both playing on Sunday) can reclaim the early season lead.

-- In Frankfurt, Kevin-Prince Boateng is hoping to keep his good form going. Mind you, Augsburg's Alfred Finnbogason (hat-trick hero last weekend) probably feels the same.

-- Wolfsburg (4 points) and Stuttgart (3) have enjoyed varying starts to their respective league seasons. Who wins today takes a jump in the right direction. With Mario Gomez out for a while with an ankle injury, cue Divock Origi and Landry Dimata - a pair of Belgians to save the day for Andries Jonker? Simon Terodde and Stuttgart hope not. Holger Badstuber isn't in the squad for the home side.

-- Schalke are in Bremen in the under-the-radar game of the day. Guido Burgstaller returns to the Schalke starting XI, but otherwise this team is slowly becoming the one Domenico Tedesco wants to build around. As for Werder Bremen, also an expected line-up. Jiri Pavlenka is looking a top signing.

-- Bayern Munich's team is out. Thomas Müller gets the start, while shirt-throwing Franck Ribery is on the bench. Jerome Boateng makes his first start of the new season. 

-- Good afternoon! After a week of European football, the Bundesliga returns. This weekend, there are three games on Sunday due to European fixtures. Hannover beat Hamburg on Friday to sit top of the table for now. Here are today's games:
