Whispers of the word "Brexit" in London's financial district were enough to send Britain's currency plunging on Monday morning. Since the beginning of the year the pound has already shed more than four percent of its value against the dollar.
The Big Ben bell's final bong has rung out from the UK parliament's clock tower. The cherished symbol will be silent for most of the next four years while the tower is renovated, to the ire of some lawmakers.
A landmark UK Brexit survey has revealed that companies active in Britain's farm-to-fork sector expect to face a serious lack of workers, should there be an abrupt reduction of employees from the EU post-Brexit.
Nearly 100 letters were sent to EU citizens living legally in the UK threatening them with detention and deportation. The Home Office has said the "rights of EU nations living in the UK remain unchanged."
London has pledged to avoid border posts between the EU-member Republic of Ireland and the UK country of Northern Ireland after Brexit. Questions still remain as to how Britain plans to police the "frictionless" border.
