Brilliant Minds: Yamirka Rojas-Agramonte - Tomorrow Today, 29.09.2008

Michael BärSeptember 29, 2008

When you look at a rock, it's hard to believe that it is also a treasure trove of information for a geoscientist. The types of stone in a region reveal a great deal about its geological history, and they're just waiting for the right scientist to unlock their riddles - someone like Yamirka Rojas-Agramonte. The Cuban researcher's work is providing new insights into the geological birth and formation of the Caribbean island. As part of our ongoing series 'Brilliant Minds', we’ll be paying special tribute to geological research in the coming months in honor of UNESCO’s International Year of Planet Earth. My colleague Andreas Neuhaus met with the young geologist from Cuba and spoke to her about her scientific quest to find out more about the ground right under our feet.
