The verdict has finally fallen: on Wednesday, the German Constitutional court ruled that European Stability Mechanism does not violate the German constitution. Much was at stake in the decision, since the ESM would certainly have failed without Germany’s economic clout behind it – and that would likely have spelled the end of the Eurozone.
