Ballack Leads Klinsmann's National Team

Two days before his first international match as Germany's national soccer team trainer, Jürgen Klinsmann announced Michael Ballack will captain the national team against Austria. Ballack takes over from his Bayern Munich colleague and national team goalkeeper Oliver Kahn. "I wanted to have a field player who is connected to all the team parts on the field," said Klinsmann, who took over duty as national coach at the end of July.
