Andreas Kofler, 25, is now the 11th Austrian to win Four Hills, which finished on Wednesday.

"This is great. I never believed I could win the tour after two tough years. I always dreamt of topping the podium," said Kofler.

Austrians dominated this year's tournament, winning three out of five of the final standings. "The Austrians are simply in a class above the rest in the world. I am proud of Kofler." said the German head coach Werner Schuster, who is Austrian himself.

Disappointing show for Germany

The German team did not do as well as they had hoped. Although Pascal Bodmer did manage to secure a 9th place finish on the final stage of the tournament, no German skiers placed in the overall top standings. Schuster spoke well of Bodmer, but the rest of the team was not so fortunate.

"He (Bodmer) had a good tournament. However, I cannot be satisfied with the rest," said Schuster.

The World Cup continues this weekend in Austria, on the hill of Bad Mitterndorf. Kofler is currently third in the World Cup rankings, with Swiss skier Simon Ammann in the lead.
