Security forces shot dead a man who tried to seize a gun from a soldier at Orly airport, which serves the French capital. Part of the airport building has been evacuated and passengers were urged to avoid the area.
The man killed three people and injured 16 before being shot dead in what French President Emmanuel Macron called an "Islamist terrorist attack." A police officer who swapped places with a hostage earned praise.
