Could the universe conceivably have a planet like Earth that does not have hurricanes? What conditions would make that possible? Planetary geologist Ralf Jaumann tells DW how it could be possible.
Hurricanes need horizontal and vertical movement to develop. Both are possible on other planets. There are even storms with liquids other than just water, such as methane. Metals are not well suited to cause storms.
