Israel has begun notifying African asylum seekers that they have two months to leave for an unnamed third country. Outrage over the plan has long simmered among liberal Israelis and international rights groups.
Papua New Guinea police cleared and sealed off a former Australian immigration detention center after the last 300 asylum-seekers were taken away in buses. The men said they feared for their safety outside the camp.
US President Donald Trump has told African leaders meeting in Addis Ababa that the US "profoundly respects" its partnership with the continent. Trump also plans to send his top diplomat Rex Tillerson to Africa in March.
