A new generation of young, confident and mobile Africans are taking their destinies into their own hands and changing the continent for the better. The Africa on the Move series will introduce the audience to African champions who are making things happen. One such champion is online activist Oscibi, part of the "Balai Citoyen" (The Citizen's Broom) movement in Burkina Faso, which played a significant role in "sweeping" the long-serving ruler Blaise Compaore from office.

Inspire and make a difference

Fanta Diallo is an activist and entrepreneur who is working to prevent young Senegalese from making the life-threatening journey to Europe by helping them find meaningful work at home. Joining her is Rwandan entrepreneur Serge Ndekwe. Despite facing many political obstacles, he managed to establish his own restaurant and dairy. Another enterprising young African is South African Calvin Phaala. He is delivering the latest feature films to remote communities using his "cinema in a backpack".
