Why does the sun rise in the east?
Germany's Left party continues to dominate elections in the Berlin district of Lichtenberg. But 27 years after reunification, how much does the party rely on its East German past? DW's Kate Brady reports.
Germany’s main opposition party, the Left party, has strong support in the German capital, particularly in areas of former East Germany. DW went to the Lichtenberg district in the east of Berlin to find out what makes the far-left party so popular.
Indonesian authorities have raised the alert for the rumbling Mount Agung volcano on the resort island of Bali to one notch below the highest level, following increased activity, an official said Tuesday.
