World market leader ABInBev, brewer of such labels as Beck's and Budweiser, is set to buy out its biggest rival, SABMiller, for some €96 billion. All they need now is the blessing of the antitrust authorities.
Beer and soft drink maker Anheuser-Busch InBev wants to take over rival SABMiller from the UK. Should the deal come about, the two companies would control no less than a third of the global beer market.
Shareholders in SABMiller and AB InBev have overwhelmingly given the green light to what will be one of the biggest mergers in corporate history. Both companies spoke of a good deal that presents significant synergies.
