63 years ago, in 1947, Margot Friedlander and her husband emigrated to New York. Both had survived the Holocaust: Margot hiding in her home city Berlin. In 2003 she visited the German capital for the first time again. It was a journey into the past and to a city which brought back memories of Nazi terror. But this trip also changed her attitude. In 2010, Margot Friedlander wants to return to Berlin for good. But saying goodbye to New York and her American friends isn’t as easy as she thought it would be.

In 2010, Margot Friedlander returned to the German capital forever, saying she doesn’t have a home country but she does have a home, and that's Berlin again. These days, as part of her mission for reconciliation she wants to tell the young generation how Germans helped her survive Nazi terror, also ensuring that Nazi tyranny won't be forgotten But she still doesn't trust members of her own generation.
