DiamondWare Presents Killer Apps at Internet Telephony

Los Angeles, CA Oct 6, 2004—DiamondWare, Ltd. announces today that it was selected to present two "killer apps" of Voice over IP, out of a total of six, in a keynote-level live demonstration session at Internet Telephony Expo here in Los Angeles. The live nature of the event demands that companies bring only proven products based on mature technologies.

Wi-Fone is DiamondWare's softphone for PocketPC and Windows. This SIP-based softphone was designed to "just work." With an Internet Telephony Service Provider (ITSP) partner, to be announced soon, Wi-Fone provides the ability to make and receive PSTN calls. With its built in algorithms for noise and echo filtering, jitter buffer, and ultra-low latency media engine, it provides true PSTN quality whether the user has headphones, or even holds the PDA like a cellular phone. The product was designed as a cellular replacement.

Palantir is DiamondWare's fourth-generation VoIP platform, including its radical 3D voice positioning feature, voice colorization, presence, text, push-to-talk, and many other features. The product is currently deployed by US military forces, and a commercial version is under development.

Both product demos worked, with all features presented to the live audience without a glitch. "It was exciting to skip the PowerPoint slides and just run the software live," said Keith Weiner, DiamondWare's CEO after presenting the two 6-minute sessions. He added, "the audience responded well to the value propositions and there was a definite buzz when people heard the sound of 3D voice—the algorithm is robust even in a large hall over loudspeakers."
